LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month is a month-long annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans, and non-binary history and culture.

It coincides with the anniversary of the abolition of Section 28 in 2003, a policy that prohibited the “promotion” of homosexuality. It is therefore an opportunity to reflect on progress towards equality over time and consider what more can still be done in the UK and around the world.

This year's theme celebrates the work and life of LGBTQ+ people whose activism“helped shape and create social change, advancing society for everyone."
