Social Work, Artificial Intelligence and technology: What does it actually mean for your practice? | BASW England Southwest Regional Branch Event
The BASW Southwest Regional Branch would like to welcome you to this session presented by Tommy Henderson-Reay from the Digitising Social Care Programme.
This session is open to non-members.
The session will explore the positives of technology and AI in Social Work alongside some of the challenges faced by the profession from an increasingly digital world. The discussion will also explore the ethical dilemmas that we need to consider when using AI and wider technological approaches in our practice. There will be time for Q and A, so why not join us to explore what is a fast moving topic directly linked to our practice as social workers.
Tommy is the lead social worker at the Digitising Social Care programme. He has worked across social care for over 15 years both for local authorities and the not-for-profit care provider sector. He now works for the Digitising Social Care programme across NHS England and DHSC supporting adult social care with digital transformation. Having worked both locally and nationally, Tommy is focused on ensuring that those access care and support as well as those who work in social care have the skills they need to engage with technology.
