What might the Families First Partnership Programme mean for your practice? | BASW England Greater Manchester Branch Event
The Families First Partnership Programme (FFPP) is being rolled out across England, with many elements mandated under the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. If you’re a Children and Families Social Worker in Greater Manchester and want to learn how the Pathfinder authorities have implemented this model—and what it could mean for your practice—this event is for you.
We’re delighted to welcome Sara Taylor, Head of Workforce Development and Principal Social Worker in Lewisham for the past six years. Sara brings extensive experience, having worked as an operational senior manager in several local authorities. Lewisham was selected as one of the seven Wave 2 Pathfinder authorities in January 2024, and since May 2024, Sara has been leading the implementation of the Families First for Children reform programme.
This event will also feature insights from branch members working in adult services, sharing their experience of multi-disciplinary services —a key component of the FFPP model. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss how FFPP is being implemented in your local area and share your own perspectives.
Finally, from 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the branch committee will meet to plan future activities. If you’re a Greater Manchester-based social worker and BASW member, join us to learn more about becoming an active branch member and help shape our future initiatives.
