BASW NI is delighted to launch its associate membership offer, in partnership with the Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW).
The offer enables BASW NI members to join IASW as associate members, and vice versa, facilitating a greater sense of being part of an all-island social work profession and enabling members to benefit from being part of their sister association.
BASW NI members can join IASW as associate members via an application form on the IASW website, at an annual cost of €50. IASW members will join BASW NI as associates via the BASW website, for a fee of £45.
One huge benefit of associate membership is that it will open up additional resources to help you grow in your career. This includes access to a wider range of CPD resources and greater opportunities for skills development.
We are stronger together to deliver social change and associate membership will provide you with the chance to influence the planning and delivery of social work services and promote social justice across the island of Ireland.
Perhaps most importantly, associate membership will contribute to the development of a strong, collective voice for social work. Ensuring both Associations are representative of our diverse workforces will enhance the identity and confidence of our profession.
Orlaith, McGibbon, Chair of BASW Northern Ireland and Vivian Geiran, Chair of the Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW), explain the many benefits of the new BASW NI and IASW associate membership offer.
