It could only happen to a social worker…

Social work is full of stories – and social workers have more tales to tell than most other professionals! We'd love to hear them.
PSW magazine is looking for anecdotes from social workers for two regular columns.
The first is ‘Rosy Glows’, a platform for sharing those ‘magic moments in social work that make it all worthwhile’. This can be an example of when you have made a positive difference to someone’s life, or stood up for someone’s rights, or received a thank you or positive feedback for your work from a service user, colleague or manager. It could be a time you gained a key bit of learning that remains with you – anything that’s made you feel proud to be a social worker and given you that ‘rosy glow’!
The second is a new section called ‘It could only happen to a social worker’. This is a space to share anecdotes about unusual situations that only social workers find themselves in. These will probably be more lighthearted and amusing experiences, but they may also be moving and poignant too.
Word count is 400 for both sections and you can find examples of each in the last edition of PSW (July/August) which is also available online here.
