Shaping Practice - One Deal for Social Work: where are we now with terms and conditions, and what next?
There is a new Government, a new national social work agency, and a new social work partnership now leading the development of change for Scottish social work. SASW and our members have a vital role to play in shaping the future of the profession. We are a key member of the Scottish Social Work Partnership (SSWP) Advisory Group. As the only independent voice for social work in Scotland, SASW will remain at the forefront of scrutinising and engaging with their work as it develops.
It is you, as SASW/BASW members, who are the driving force behind the influence we exert and the asks we make of those shaping social work. These sessions will create a forum for members who are interested in the changes facing social work and who want to use their professional expertise to help keep developments on the right track.
The Promise, changes to how we support age disputed young people seeking asylum, justice social work, SDS implementation, support for the workforce, and much more are all currently high on the agenda.
This session focuses on - One Deal for Social Work: where are we now with terms and conditions, and what next?
We launched One Deal for Social Work nearly three years ago. Initially opposed by major unions but now largely supported, the campaign has helped shift how terms and conditions for social workers in Scotland are viewed. There is now broad recognition that genuine change is essential. This session will look at the next steps toward a profession that is nationally consistent, professionally respected, relationship based, and supported to thrive.
Sessions will evolve as the agenda shifts. If there are areas you think we should focus on, please let us know.
