BASW/HCPC partnership prepares members for HCPC renewal
Maris Stratulis, BASW England Manager said, “BASW is committed to supporting members with their registration renewal process and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).”
The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) have come together to offer BASW members vital training. The two half day events took place on Monday 1 September and proved very popular with members – with both sessions fully booked.
The training offered BASW members the opportunity to learn all about the HCPC re-registration process, covered how members should keep up with CPD and how to provide the necessary evidence.
Delegates left the two sessions equipped with the necessary skills for a smooth registration renewal and aware of the vital role CPD plays to ensure that social workers provide quality services, develop their practice and achieve good outcomes for individuals, families and communities.
Stakeholder Communications Manager Jonathan Jones, who presented at the events on behalf of the HCPC, commented:
“Today’s event was a fantastic opportunity to speak to social workers about renewals and CPD and we are delighted to have been able to work with BASW to accomplish this. We hope that attendees have a fuller understanding of what our CPD standards mean for their practice and feel reassured that they have the information they need to complete the audit process if they are among the 2.5 per cent selected.
“For those who were unable to make today’s event, we’d also like to remind all social workers that renewing their registration online is quick and easy and we encourage them to do this well before the deadline of Sunday 30 November 2014 to ensure they remain on the Register.”
