BASW England is consulting with members on the proposals within the Health and Care Bill and the implications for social work. The Health and Care Bill was debated for the first time in Parliament on 14th July 2021 and BASW England has been following developments closely.  The proposed changes will impact upon social workers working in and across social care and health.

The proposals must give people the opportunity to be listened to, heard, and involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

BASW England is consulting with members on the proposals within the Health and Care Bill and the implications for social work.

We are using our voice and influence to highlight why the cut would be detrimental to children, families and people across the country.

Four social work students have each won £500 for their entries to SWU's WSWD 2021 Student Essay Assignment Competition, and two additional outstanding entries have been awarded prizes as well.
