BASW Cymru consultation event: response to consultation on national strategy for preventing and responding to child sexual abuse
The Welsh Government is consulting on the national strategy for preventing and responding to child sexual abuse 2025 - 2035. The strategy sets out a vision for a Wales in which: • children and young people are safe from the harm of child sexual abuse • those affected by sexual abuse are supported across their lifespan
There are 4 strategic objectives in the draft strategy, which have been co-developed with adult victim-survivors and other key stakeholders. The strategic objectives are: • preventing child sexual abuse • protecting children and young people when there are concerns about child sexual abuse • supporting children and their families • supporting adult victim-survivors
BASW Cymru welcomes the opportunity to respond to this consultation and invites the views and perspectives of social workers across Wales. Please join us for an online discussion on 16th September 2025, 17:30-19:00 via Teams.
